Thesis of My Documentary

The social issue that I am addressing is fast food and obesity.

The message of this issue is to stop eating fast food.
Fast food is very unhealthy and can cause serious health problems like Hypertension, Diabetes, Obesity, Liver problems, heart disease, digestive problems, and more.
Eating fast food everyday can cause you to have a over size weight.
Also we shouldn't have fast food restaurants next to school because students that eat fast food everyday can cause many things to there bodies too and they can become real fat and over weighted.

I agree with what the story is saying about eating fast food. I believe that everyone that eat fast food regularly should stop eating it now. From reading this story I learned that if you constantly keep on eating fast food every single day you may catch serious health problems like Diabetes, Hypertension, High cholesterol, Digestive problems, Liver problems, or a Heart disease.
Also you can become real fat like a over size weight.

In my documentary I'm going to take pictures of fast food and talk to different people and do much more.

Reflection on Types of Media

The unique thing of a newspaper is that you can read many interesting things that happens in every day life. In a newspaper you can find things like crimes,entertaining,sports,business and many more things. I learned that newspapers are most often published on a daily or weekly basis, and they usually focus on one particular geographic area where most of their readers live.

Introducing Documentaries-Storm

To make this document the students had to act out a real story that really happened in real life about bullying. These students had to remember the words, they had to be good actors and act out parts to make it seem real like it was happening.


In this documentaries the elements that was used was acting,speaking,they showed the inside and outside of different places, black and white,color,music,and words.


The most powerful part in this document was at the end the part when Joe killed himself maybe because he couldn't take the bullying no more.

If I was to make this document of bullying I would of did more acting in it. Also I would of made it longer and I would of made the parents as different people and have the parents act a different way.

When I have a response on documentaries it is different from a response on a book or newspaper because when you read something in a book or a newspaper people somethings add things to the story but a document of something tells the truth and you can see that.

The Color Purple Response

There is this main situation that happens through out the whole story.
Mr____ treat Celie like a slave and that it not fair.
When Mr___ tell Celia what to do she really listen to everything he tells her to do.
She don't really do nothing about, she just sits there and be treated that way.

If I was in Celia position right now I wouldn't let some stupid old sorry man treat me that way.
I would of waited to Mr.___ sleep and killed him then maybe I would of ran away.
Thats what I would of did or if I don't do that I would not listen to him and if I don't listen to him and he hit me I am going to hit him back or call the cops.

Book Clubs Authors Voice

If this book The Color Purple had a voice I would describe the voice as being brave and being strong.
I think that Keyshia Cole would be most ideal or this novel if an audio book was produced because Keyshia Cole have this kind of voice that can sound soft but a voice that sounds like a person that trying to be so strong.

My short story introduction

" Hey wait up" Davina said while running up to Nakia.

"I'm Having a party this Friday and I want to know If you want to come"? Davina said

"Yea I'll come, that will be great " Nakia response in a happy voice

Davina was having her party in that huge haunted house on killer street were everyone was scared to walk next to. The house had spider webs all over it.The front yard looked like it was a war happening and in the back yard was this scary creepy dark grave yard.

Davina was happy she was having a party especially when she was playing a big trick on Nakia.
Last year Nakia made Davina eat chocolate knowing that Davina gets bumps all over her body.
Now Davina is trying to get revenge to get back at Nakia knowing that Nakia is scared of spiders and
creepy stuff.

My Name is Celia. I hate my life. I always have to clean this and that, and I'm always getting beat.
Should I run away or should I stay?
I can't take this anymore. I don't deserve to live like this. I wish my mom was still here.
I hope nothing happens to my sister.
She is really all I got.
I love my sister so much. How can all this madness stop?
I wish I was never Mr.___ wife.
He is not a good husband. He make me do everything around the house.
He beats me and the kids all the time, but he beats me the most.
It can be so hot outside and he will make me and the kids do everything.By the end of the day we are pitch black.
I'm thinking that should I kill him or should I run away?

The Color Purple Book Club Response

While Reading this book I can predict that many bad things is going to happen.
The main character in this story is Celia.
She have been raped ,beating up and been treated wrong.
Her Father is mean and is a disgrace to the world. He have been beating on almost every member in Celia family.

So Far I can related to my friend.
When her mother was gone for like a couple of hour she was in the house with her mothers boyfriend.
She was in the room by her self. Then like a hour later her mother boyfriend came in the room and started to beat her, then he put his thing in her private part and raped her. She scream and tryed to get him off of her. All he did was hurt her a lot and choked her real hard.
When her mother came home she told her mother and her mother didn't believe her.
So the girl pack her stuff and ran away.

Alice Walker Poetic Style

Alice Walker writes wonderful poems.
Her Poems are amazing.
When Alice writes her poems and you read it, its like reading something special.
Her style of writing poems is like a thing that really means something.
When Alice Walker writes poems she uses many poetic devices.
Alice poems have many different themes.
Her themes be Empowerment, Freedom, creativity, peace, and anger.
When Alice writes poems its mostly about life.

If I had a conversation with Alice walker I would ask her many things about writing poems and how she became a wonderful and a amazing Poetry writer.

The theme of this poem is to never let anyone bring you down.
The clues in this poem that describes this theme is when she said"Did you want to see me broken?Bowed head and lowered eyes?Shoulders falling down like teardrops.Weakened by my soulful cries.Also in the poem she says"you may shoot me with your words,You may cut me with your eyes,You may kill me with your hatefulness,But still, like air, I'll rise. These clues in this wonderful written poem describes the theme of this poem.

This message of the poem applies to my life and many ways.One way is sometimes people always try to put me down but they can't .If they do put me down I would always rise back up.Also I can connect to another poem that I've read, The name of this poem is I ,Too,is America.
This poem connects to the other poem because they both having like the same theme, never giving giving up, and never let anyone bring you down.

Hyperbole of My Dog

While I was reading this poem I found many examples of hyperbole.
One example that I found in this poem was"Little girl is my dog.
To me this person is trying to explain that the little girl acts like a dog and this person is saying that the little girl is wild like a dog. Another example I found was"When she sees food her eyes starts to spend. This person is trying to explain that this little girl loves food and the girl must of been very hungry so when she saw the food her eyes must have popped out.

I think that the author use hyperbole in the poem this way because he/she might of wanted people to see what he/she mean about the little as being a dog

To My Parents

Dear Mom and Dad,
My biggest accomplishment in ELA this year is making predictions and knowing how to write essays more better using transforming words. Also in ELA during test prep time I now know how to find the meaning of hard words using context clues from a story. My favorite unit this year in ELA is the character studies. I like this unit a lot because it helps me more to understand a passage that is very hard for me and this unit is helping me to get ready to take the big ELA state test on January 21,2009. In this unit my class 802 is reading a very high level book called To Kill The Mockingbird. This book is for like high school students. I'm very proud of myself because I really understand this great book and this book have very hard words that I never seen in my life. Also in this unit I learn how to answer inference question and questions about points of view which mean who is telling the story . Using technology is great for us students. We have our on websites for school. Like cis339online.com, Ning.com and blogger.com. On each website we do plenty of work. Technology is easier for me. Its better doing work on the computer that using a lot of paper. My goal this year is to get a 4 on the state test and go to HIGH SCHOOL. In ELA you have to know how to read and write because say if you want a job and you can't read or write thats a big problem. ELA IS THE BEST!!!!!!!!!!!!

Title: November Blues
Pages: 208-225
November Nelson is pregnant and she has to decide if she wants to keep the baby or should her boyfriend parents adopt the baby.
I think that November is going to keep the baby because in the story she keeps on saying that when her baby is born she is going to name her sunshine and she can see the baby talking and walking and running in the park on the a sunny day.So I believe that she might keep her little sunshine when the baby is born.November is 16 years old about to go to college. In my mind I think that November should keep her baby.
I think the story is mostly about November being pregnant and Jericho losing his cousin and his best friend.

One possible identity of Mona Lisa was she was a young woman from Italy who was in a famous portrait. For example according to the passage Mona Lisa was a in a painting that was painted by a famous inventor,scientist, and a famous artist named Leonardo. In the Passage Mona Lisa was in paintings with a strange smile. People always thought why she has a strange smile in the portrait.

Do people ever really change?

People do really change but it depends what they are changing for. For example there was this book that I was reading and it was this girl making front of this little white girl. Through out this book that I was reading this little black girl realizes what was going wrong in this little girl life. So the girl change and she stop making front of white people. In my life I changed. When I used to go to ms.328 I was always fighting and getting into a lot of trouble , but now that I came to CIS .339 I change a lot because this school was right for me and I realized that it is my time to stop thinking life is a game and to stop fighting and get on with my life. Some people don't change they just do what they best do.

Drama Club Blog 1!!!!

This year in scan I want to do many things. One thing that I would like to do is test prep.
In drama club I think that we should do a performance every month or every two months.
We should perform in different places. I know how to memorize words but I still need a little help.
I would love to be the performer most of the time and do behind the scene too.
We should do a performance about Christmas for December.
My favorite actor is Denzel washington ,and samuel L. jacksons.

Election Reflection

I think that this election was the best election ever. This election is very historic
because Barack Obama was the first African American President and he has bring change to the United States of America. This election will be remember for ever. Obama election means a lot to me. His speech that he gave in his election was very meaningful and very powerful. He uses big thoughtful words in his election to show everyone that he has bring CHANGE to America.
I feel very happy and excited about Obama, the country and this big election. I feel that Obama has come very far in this election and I thank him for that. In the next 4 years I think
Obama will still be president and bring more change for each year that pass. The issues I
hope he take care first is education, economy, and health care. I think and hope that Barack Obama will live for ever.

"Ghost Story" The day Patrice was killed!!!

There once was a girl that everyone thought was kind of weird. She would always wear the color black. Her name was Patrice Brown. She was a quiet girl that did not like anyone. She was the type of girl that had a mean attitude.If someone was to mess with her she would lose control. One day she was walking into school and everyone was being so loud, but she was the only one quiet. People was talking about her when she was going into the school. She didn't know who to kill first. A fat girl name Cindy threw a big ball of paper at Patrice and it hit her face. Patrice got so mad and was losing control of herself. She bit Cindy in her face. Cindy had a big bite mark on her face. She wanted to kill Cindy and a lot of people after school but she didn't know how. The next day she was walking across the street going to school. There were people walking to school and talking about Patrice Clothes. Patrice was getting real angry and started to jump around losing control. She was still in the street and she was still going crazy. She wasn't paying attention and she was hit by a big white truck. When she died she put a voodoo curse on the whole world and she killed everyone that made front of her.
